Sprite Sheet to GIF Converter
Bring your sprite sheet to life. Slice it into frames, pick a frame rate, watch the animation loop in real time, and download it as a GIF — no upload, no watermark.
Drop a sprite sheet here, paste it, or
Your images never leave your browser — everything runs locally.
How it works
- Drop your sprite sheet onto the tool.
- Set the grid — rows and columns, or the exact tile size in pixels.
- Adjust the frame rate until the live preview loops the way you want.
- Skip empty frames so blank cells don't freeze the animation.
- Download the animated GIF — it loops forever by default.
Frequently asked questions
How do I turn a sprite sheet into a GIF?
Upload the sheet, tell the tool how it's divided — grid or tile size — and set the frames per second. The preview plays the loop instantly and the GIF downloads with one click.
What frame rate should I use?
Classic pixel-art animations run at 8–15 fps; 12 is a good default. Higher rates look smoother but make bigger files. The live preview updates as you drag the slider, so trust your eyes.
Does the GIF loop forever?
Yes — exported GIFs are set to loop infinitely, which is what game previews, itch.io pages and social posts expect.
Why does my GIF look different from the PNG sheet?
GIF is limited to 256 colors per frame, so very colorful art gets quantized. Pixel art with a small palette converts losslessly; for photos-turned-sprites, expect slight banding.
Is anything uploaded?
No. Slicing, preview and GIF encoding all run in your browser. Need frames instead of an animation? Use our Sprite Sheet Splitter, or go the other way with GIF to Sprite Sheet.
